Skins Tournaments (Moved)

Standalone Skins tournaments have been retired. Skins is now a built-in side game inside an Individual Tournament, which supports everything the old standalone format did (multi-flight, NET / GROSS, configurable skin value, carryover) plus full tournament management (Stroke Play / Stableford leaderboard alongside the Skins results).

It also does more than the old standalone format ever did:

  • Buy-in pot settlement — instead of a fixed value per hole, everyone antes a buy-in and the pot is split by skins won
  • Opt-in participation — skins can be a separate game that only the players you pick are in, rather than the whole field
  • Per-flight pot scope — with flights, run one combined pot or give each flight its own

How to Run a Skins Competition Today

Option 1 — Skins inside an Individual Tournament (Recommended)

Use this for organized events with multiple groups, flights, or any group larger than four players.

  1. Open the menu (hamburger icon, top-right on mobile) → Games → Tournaments
  2. On the Tournament Hub, tap the Individual Tournament card
  3. Click "Create Tournament" (Premium subscription required)
  4. In Step 3: Side Games, toggle Skins ON
    • Choose settlement — Per-hole stakes (each hole is worth a set skin value, default $5) or Buy-in pot (everyone antes a buy-in and the pot is split by skins won)
    • With flights, choose the pot scope — one combined pot, or a pot per flight
    • Choose carryover behavior (ON = ties roll over; OFF = ties push and the skin is lost)
    • Choose participation — All players, or Opt-in only so just the players you pick are in the pot
  5. Optionally enable Closest-to-Pin for par 3s on the same step
  6. Finish the wizard. Skins are calculated per flight during scoring and shown on the Side Games tab; the Leaderboard tab shows the Stroke Play / Stableford standings.

Option 2 — Skins as a round-level side game

Use this for a casual round with up to 4 players in a single foursome.

  1. Create or start a multi-player round
  2. In the round setup, enable the Skins side game
  3. Set value and carryover

Why the Change?

The standalone Skins tournament duplicated everything the Individual Tournament already did — flights, playing groups, NET/GROSS, multi-round, live leaderboard — and only varied by the scoring view. Folding Skins into Individual Tournaments means organizers get one creation flow, one management surface, and one set of tabs (Overview / Leaderboard / Side Games / Players / Groups / Manage) regardless of which scoring style they care about.
