My Caddie - User Guide
Your strategy, hole by hole
What is My Caddie?
My Caddie is your personal course knowledge system. It automatically builds a playbook for every course you play, capturing your hole-by-hole strategy notes, club selections, and shot details from each round.
Think of it as a quiet digital caddie — it remembers what worked so you don't have to.
My Caddie is a Premium feature. Tapping My Caddie without an active subscription (or trial) brings up an upgrade prompt rather than your playbooks.
Key Points:
- Premium — requires an active subscription
- Playbooks build automatically from your round notes
- Each playbook is organized hole by hole
- Notes include club selections, shot details, and personal strategy
- You can share your playbooks with buddies for read-only access
- Buddy playbooks appear as tips during your rounds
How My Caddie Works
Playbooks Build Automatically
When you add hole notes during a round (club selection, strategy notes, etc.), My Caddie automatically organizes them into a playbook for that course. You don't need to create anything manually — just play and take notes.
Accessing My Caddie
- Open the menu on your dashboard
- Tap My Caddie
- You'll see two tabs: My Playbooks and Buddy Playbooks
You can also jump straight to a single course's playbook from the My Caddie section on that course's details page.
My Playbooks
The My Playbooks tab shows all courses where you've recorded hole notes.
Caddie Insights
At the top of My Playbooks is a link to Caddie Insights — the patterns that show up across all of your rounds rather than one course at a time. Filter by course and by date to narrow it down to the stretch you care about.
Viewing a Playbook
- Tap on any course in your list
- You'll see your notes organized by hole
- Use the Front 9 / Back 9 tabs to navigate (for 18-hole courses)
What's Inside Each Hole
Each hole shows your entries from past rounds, including:
- Club selections — what clubs you used
- Shot notes — your strategy, observations, tips to yourself
- Date played — when the entry was recorded
- Par info — the hole's par
Refreshing a Playbook
If notes from a recent round haven't turned up yet, tap Sync caddie notes on the playbook to pull them in.
Deleting Entries
- Tap any entry to expand it, then tap the delete button to remove a single entry
- Use "Delete all caddie notes" at the bottom of the page to remove the entire playbook for a course (requires typing "DELETE" to confirm)
Sharing Your Playbook with Buddies
You can share your playbook for any course with your buddies. They'll get read-only access to all your hole notes, club selections, and shot details for that course.
How to Share
- Open a playbook from My Playbooks
- Tap the Share icon in the top-right corner (appears when you have entries)
- A buddy picker will appear showing your connected buddies
- Search or scroll to find buddies
- Select one or more buddies
- Tap Share with N Buddies
What gets shared: Your buddies will see all your hole notes and shot details for that course.
Viewing Who You've Shared With
When you've shared a playbook, you'll see buddy pills below the course header showing each person you've shared with.
Removing Sharing
- Tap the X on any buddy's pill to stop sharing with that specific buddy
- Tap Unshare all to remove sharing from everyone at once
- Both actions require confirmation before taking effect
Important Notes About Sharing
- Sharing is read-only — buddies can view your notes but can't edit them
- Buddies can see all holes and entries in the playbook
- You can share with as many buddies as you want
- You can stop sharing at any time
Buddy Playbooks
The Buddy Playbooks tab shows playbooks that your buddies have shared with you.
Viewing a Buddy's Playbook
- Go to My Caddie
- Tap the Buddy Playbooks tab
- Tap on any shared course to open it
- Browse hole-by-hole notes just like your own playbooks
What You'll See
- The course name and a "Shared by [Buddy Name]" label
- All of your buddy's hole notes, organized by Front 9 and Back 9
- Entry counts showing how many notes they've recorded
Differences from Your Own Playbooks
- Buddy playbooks are read-only — no delete or edit options
- You cannot share a buddy's playbook with other people
- If the buddy stops sharing with you, the playbook will no longer be accessible
AI Game Plan (Premium)
The Game Plan tab in My Caddie generates a personalized pre-round strategy using AI. It combines your caddie notes with your actual round scoring history to give you data-backed recommendations for every hole.
What You Need
- Premium subscription — same as the rest of My Caddie
- At least 2 completed rounds with caddie notes at the course
How to Generate a Game Plan
- Open a playbook from My Playbooks
- Tap the Game Plan tab (next to Notes)
- Tap Build My Game Plan
- Wait ~10 seconds for the AI to analyze your data
What's in a Game Plan
Overview Card:
- Target Score — realistic goal based on your handicap and course data
- Course Par and Avg Score — your real average from completed rounds
- Key Stats — FIR%, GIR%, Avg Putts, Best/Worst holes
- Your Caddie Says — 3-4 punchy one-liners for a quick pre-round read
- Strengths — what you do well at this course
- Stroke Bleeders — where you're losing strokes
- Mental Notes — psychological tips based on your patterns
Hole-by-Hole Cards:
- Recommended club (with alternates and approach club)
- Per-hole average score relative to par (e.g., +0.7)
- Key insight and "avoid this" warnings
- Confidence level (Early Data, Trending, High Confidence) based on how many rounds you've played
How Stats Are Computed
- Avg Score, FIR%, GIR%, and Putts per hole come from your actual completed round scores — not estimates
- The overview Avg Score is your real total-round average at this course
- The AI uses both your caddie notes (qualitative) and round data (quantitative) for recommendations
Regenerating
- Plans are cached until you regenerate
- A "New round data available" banner appears when you've added new rounds since the last plan
- Tap Regenerate at the bottom to rebuild with latest data
- Limit: 5 game plans per day
Using My Caddie During a Round
On the scoring page, a row of three tools sits under the hole selector: GPS, Game Plan and Caddie.
- Caddie opens a sheet from the bottom of the screen with your notes for the hole you're on, your tendency chips across past rounds, and any buddy tips. Close it and you're back on the score — it never pushes the scorecard down the page.
- The chip shows how many entries you have for the current hole.
- GPS shows your distances to the front, middle and back of the green, right under the chips. The map tile inside opens the full-screen hole view.
- Game Plan keeps a one-line summary on screen (your club and the miss to avoid) because that's worth reading before you swing without tapping anything. Tap it for the full reasoning.
Only one tool is open at a time — opening GPS or Caddie tucks the Game Plan line away, and it comes back as soon as you close them.
The Caddie and Game Plan chips are hidden from watch-only spectators — they're for the people about to hit a shot.
Moving to the next hole closes the Caddie sheet, so you're never reading the wrong hole's notes. GPS stays open and simply updates to the new hole — you keep your yardages while you walk to the next tee.
Tools only appear when they have something to show, so a course with no notes, no plan and no GPS data shows no tool row at all.
Buddy Tips During a Round
When a buddy who is playing in your round has shared their playbook for that course, their tips appear inside your Caddie sheet.
How Buddy Tips Work
- Start a round with a buddy who has shared their playbook for that course — they have to be in the round with you
- As you score each hole, tap Caddie in the tool row under the hole selector
- Scroll past your own notes to the Buddy Tips section
- Tips show the buddy's name (e.g., "Mike's Caddie") along with their club selections and notes for that hole
- Tips only appear for holes where the buddy has entries
Buddy Tips Display
- Tips appear in an amber/orange section, distinct from your own blue notes
- When multiple buddies have shared tips, you'll see a combined header (e.g., "Mike's Caddie + 2 more")
- Each buddy's tips show their name and latest entry for the hole
- The section is collapsible — tap to expand or collapse
Frequently Asked Questions
How do playbooks get created?
Automatically. When you add hole notes during a round (club selections, strategy notes, etc.), My Caddie organizes them into a playbook for that course. You don't need to create playbooks manually.
Can I create a playbook without playing a round?
Not currently. Playbooks are built from hole notes entered during rounds. The more rounds you play at a course, the richer your playbook becomes.
What about courses with more than 18 holes (e.g., 27-hole facilities)?
Handled automatically. At facilities with multiple nine-hole courses (e.g., Links, Ridge, Canyon), your notes are stored per nine — not per course configuration. That means your Ridge notes follow you whether you play Links-Ridge or Canyon-Ridge. No duplicates, no lost notes.
How many buddies can I share a playbook with?
There's no limit. You can share with as many connected buddies as you want.
Can my buddy edit my shared playbook?
No. Sharing is read-only. Only you can add, edit, or delete entries in your own playbook.
Can my buddy share my playbook with someone else?
No. Only you control who has access to your playbook. Buddies cannot re-share it.
What happens if I stop sharing with a buddy?
The buddy will no longer be able to see your playbook. It will disappear from their Buddy Playbooks tab. You can always share again later.
What happens if a buddy deletes their account?
They'll automatically be removed from your shared list and will no longer have access.
Do buddy tips use extra data?
Minimal. Buddy tips are cached for 15 minutes, so they're only loaded once per round and reused as you score each hole.
Can I see buddy tips for buddies who aren't in my round?
No. Buddy tips only appear for buddies who are playing in the same round and have shared their playbook with you for that course.
Where do I find My Caddie?
Open the menu on your dashboard and tap My Caddie. You can also open a single course's playbook from the My Caddie section on that course's details page.
Can I add or edit caddie notes after my round is completed?
Yes. On any completed round where you were a player, tap the Edit Stats & My Caddie button (located above the comments section). Inside the modal, tap the My Caddie link at the top of each hole to slide into the caddie panel. From there you can add or update club selections, shot shapes, approach clubs, and hole notes. When you save, your notes automatically sync back to your course playbook.
Tips & Best Practices
1. Add Notes During Every Round
The more rounds you play and add notes for, the more valuable your playbook becomes. Even a quick club selection note helps.
2. Share Before Playing Together
If you're heading out with a buddy who hasn't played the course before, share your playbook with them beforehand. Because they're in the round with you, your tips will show up in their Caddie sheet hole by hole.
3. Review Before You Play
Before heading to a course, open your playbook to refresh your memory on club selections and strategies that worked in the past.
4. Use Buddy Tips as a Second Opinion
Buddy tips are suggestions, not gospel. Use them as a second opinion alongside your own knowledge of the course.
