Home Course
Your home course is the course you play most often. Setting it unlocks faster round setup, personal stats at that course, and a community page showing other Buddies on the Green players who call it home.
Setting your home course
Go to Profile → Edit Profile → Home Course and tap Select your home course.
The picker uses Google to find your course (so you'll see the name as it's marketed locally), then matches it to scorecard data so you can play rounds with full stats. For courses with multiple 9-hole combinations (like Fox Hollow's Links / Canyon / Meadow), you'll be asked which combination you usually play.
Saving writes the course to your profile and to your saved courses list. You'll only need to do this once.
What you get
Faster round creation
When you tap New Round, your home course appears at the top with a Setup Round button. One tap, no scrolling, no searching.
The Home Course card is amber-colored on your My Courses page so you can pick it out at a glance — and it's pinned above your other saved courses.
Dashboard summary
Your Home Course dashboard tile shows your performance there at a glance:
21 rounds · Avg 86 · Best 39
Tap the tile to open the full community page.
The community page
Visit at /home-course or via the Home Course menu item.
Hero
A photo of your course with your avatar overlayed — this is your home base. Below your name and handicap, you'll see contextual badges that make this place feel like yours:
- 🏡 Your Home Course — always shown on your own home course
- ⭐ Most Played — when this is your most-played course (across at least two played courses)
- 👥 Your crew plays here — when 2+ of your buddies share this home course
- 👥 1 buddy plays here — when exactly one buddy is here
- 🟢 N buddies played today / 🔥 N buddies here this week / 🔥 You played 4d ago — your most recent activity signal
Personal stats
Your numbers at this course only:
- Rounds played
- Avg Score
- Best
These come from rounds you've actually played here — not your overall stats.
The community page has three tabs. Locals is the one that's live — Leaderboard and Activity sit next to it marked "Coming soon".
Locals tab
The list of Buddies on the Green players who call this course home. Organized into:
- Your Home Base — you, pinned at the top
- Your Buddies — buddies who also play here
- Other Locals — everyone else
A summary banner at the top tells you what you're looking at:
👥 8 golfers play here regularly 🤝 5 buddies play here · ⛳ Avg HCP 14.2
Each row shows the player's avatar, name, handicap, and — for buddies — a behavior signal like "Played 2d ago", "3 rounds this month", or "Avg 84 here".
Quick actions on buddy rows
Tap any buddy row to open a quick actions sheet:
- 🏌 Invite to round — sets up a multi-player round at this course with the buddy already added. You skip course selection entirely and land on tee selection.
- 💬 Message — opens a direct message thread with that buddy.
- 👤 View profile — see their full handicap, recent rounds, and shared rounds.
Adding non-buddy locals
Locals you're not yet connected with show an Add button. Tap it to send a buddy request. Once they accept, they move to the Your Buddies group.
Privacy
Players whose Profile Visibility is set to Private are excluded from the locals list — even if they have this course as their home. Your home course is still counted toward the global total but you won't be listed publicly.
To change your visibility, go to Profile → Edit → Profile Visibility.
Removing or changing your home course
Go to Profile → Edit → Home Course and tap Change or Remove.
Removing your home course will:
- Remove the Home Course tile from your mobile menu and drawer
- Remove the home course hero card from round creation
- Hide your dashboard rounds-played stat at that course
- Stop counting you among that course's locals
Your saved courses, your rounds, and your buddy connections are untouched.
Frequently asked questions
Why don't I see all my buddies' recent rounds? We only show buddy activity from rounds they've explicitly shared with you. If a buddy plays your home course but doesn't share the round, we won't see it. This is intentional — your buddies control what's visible.
Why does "Most Played" badge sometimes not show? It only appears when you've played this course more than any other AND you've played at least two distinct courses. With only one course of rounds, "most played" doesn't mean much.
Can I see other people's home course community? Not right now — the community page is for the course you've set as your own home course.
What happens if my home course isn't found? Picking your home course requires a course with scorecard data (so we can power round stats). If yours isn't found, search by a different spelling or the parent club name. Contact support if you can't find it.
Do partner courses get any special treatment? Yes — partner courses keep their Partner badge alongside the Home badge on cards. Their listing on the locals list is unchanged.
