Buddies on the Green believes golf is for everyone. The Adaptive Golf Community provides resources, mentorship, and support for amputee golfers at every stage of their journey — whether you're just starting out or looking to improve your game.

Accessing Adaptive Golf

Navigation:

  • Open the menu (hamburger icon, top-right on mobile) → Buddies → Adaptive Golf Community

Access: The Adaptive Golf page is available to all users (free and premium).

The landing page for the Adaptive Golf Community includes:

Read and share inspirational stories from adaptive golfers in the community.

Reading Stories:

  • Browse published stories from other adaptive golfers
  • Tap a story to read the full version

Sharing Your Story:

  • Tap "Share Your Story" button
  • Write about your golf journey, challenges, and achievements
  • Stories are submitted for review before publishing
  • Approved stories appear in the Stories tab for the community to read

Mentor Matching Tab

Connect with experienced adaptive golfers for guidance and support. Requires a logged-in account.

How It Works:

  1. Go to the Mentor Matching tab
  2. Fill out the matching form with your details
  3. Submit your request
  4. The team will connect you with a suitable mentor or mentee

Form Details:

  • Name & Contact — Name, email, phone (optional), location
  • Type of Amputation — Upper limb, lower limb, bilateral, partial, or other
  • Golf Experience — Beginner, intermediate, advanced, played before amputation, or started after amputation
  • Role — Mentee (seeking guidance), mentor (providing guidance), or both
  • Connection Type — One-on-one, group setting, or either
  • Areas of Interest — Choose from: Equipment Selection, Swing Techniques, Course Management, Mental Game, Prosthetic Tips, Tournament Play, Social Golf, Fitness & Conditioning, Rules & Etiquette
  • Your Story — Share your golf journey and what you hope to gain
  • Availability — When you're typically available for mentoring sessions

Community Tab (Coming Soon)

Planned features include:

  • Discussion forums for equipment reviews, swing tips, course accessibility, and more
  • Support groups for new amputees, beginner golfers, advanced players, and families/caregivers

Common Questions

Q: Do I need a premium subscription to access Adaptive Golf? A: No. The Adaptive Golf community page is available to all users.

Q: How do I share my story? A: Go to the Stories tab and tap "Share Your Story." Your story will be reviewed before publishing.

Q: How long does mentor matching take? A: After submitting your request, the team will review it and connect you with a suitable match. Timing depends on available mentors in your area.

Q: Can I be both a mentor and a mentee? A: Yes! Select "Both" in the mentor matching form.
